Wythenshawe
Amateurs Football Club was established in 1946 and have a long and distinguished history. In the 1950's our club played
against Manchester United and drew 2-2. We have 10 successful junior teams ranging from under 8's up to under 16's, 3
senior teams and 2 girls teams all competing in leagues around Manchester. Our Club is based on Longley Lane, Northenden,
Manchester, England. Although with the amount of teams we have competing, we all play at different pitches around the
Wythenshawe area.
Since
Carol formed the Girls section of the club we have grown into two sections, we have an
under 14's Girls team which play in the South
Manchester Girls Football League and a small but great team called "The Charity Team" (mixed ages
7/8/9/10 yrs) We play all our home games at Holly Hedge Park, Stancliffe Road,
Wythenshawe.
The under14's Team
The under 14's Girls came fourth in the league last year and at present have a dip in form but that is about to change in the new year. The under 14's have matured and learned each week; with the hope of one or two new players we could be a force to be reckoned with in the Wythenshawe area of football. If there is any 12/13/14 years old girls who think they can contribute to a Girls section of Football Club please contact "Carol" on 07894 650 414 or "IAN" on 07940 072 596

The Charity Team
The Charity Team became named mainly because the cause was for Girls team of mixed ages to play great football and to contribute to local charities; which we have done.
In 2007 we donated in excess of £200.00 to Lancasterian Special Education Needs School in Didsbury. This school supports the needs of children with disabilities and special educational needs and receives very little funding for equipment and supplies so the need of fund raising is paramount to this school.
We hope Wythenshawe Amateurs Charity Team will be able to donate and deliver some very important funds for this service to continue.

In 2008 we have donated in excess of £100.00 to Francis House (Rainbow Family Trust) Didsbury to help them to provide specialised care needed by children and their families.
The Future
We have many exciting plans for the future of girls football in south Manchester our new club house and changing rooms / toilet block are being built in June 2008 at Holly Hedge Park, Wythenshawe and the new home is nearly complete and with help of sponsorship from local business, future advertisements in our local papers we hope to recruit players from our local area and we will grow into a club which will in turn service a great area of Wythenshawe.
