Ladies, looking at stats you had a large amount of the game and shots in and around the target, we need to get ruthless around the box and finish off the opposing teams, the left foot is not just for standing on, have a go, get the shot away early on the run, stop trying to bring it onto the right foot, Town nearly made us pay in the last 5 Mins when they hit the post. Some players each week are putting in great great performances, thank you you so much, we can see the standard settled team formation paying off, in that you all know what is expected each week from each other and yourselves, and working in small passing moves around the pitch. I fully agree with Ian's killer touch comment, there were a lot of wayward passes and controlling the ball. Looking forward to the return of Hannah to get the back 4 and Keeper position really settled once again, does anybody know when she is returning ?, even to get down to match's and training to keep talking about the position and tactic's, as Ian states, its the hardest position on the pitch and we need to get a permanent keeper to build up the team, thank you to the two keepers today for listening, you did yourselves proud. Once again Ian thank you, for your detailed / accurate reports on the match, I applaud your never-ending optimism and I'm sure the girls performances will replay the faith you have in them real soon

Great performance by you all, and some of the play was fantastic to watch, went a bit quite at times, but came storming back to take a 4-3 lead was encouraging to see that your heads didn't drop. I enjoyed watching the 3rd goal , the cross by Dionne and the finish by Beth really really good play, a lot of running put in by all and never giving up the chase all match. I can see you all practicing pen's next week. Leah the stand in Keeper, brilliant once again, coming off your line, narrowing the angle, and throwing yourself on the floor at feet so brave, hope your mum can get the mud out. well done, all of you are getting better each week, keep working on it

Hi Ams,
We at Denton Town are amazed at the improvements you have all made since last season, and you more than give us a game. You certainly don't deserve your league position, and if you continue to put the effort in, and progress at the rate you have done over the last few months, then without a shadow of doubt, you will be up there with us, challenging for silverware
Well done girls and all the people at WAGS

Hi Am's,
Don't let today's score line put you off. I know 0-6 today looks like you've taken two steps
forward, three back, but honestly you haven't. You held us to 0-1 first half, but our girls were so on song 2nd
half, I don't think anyone could of handled them. You are an excellent squad, going in the right direction, but it will take time to reach your full potential, so keep
putting it in, and it'll come - hopefully not against us, but if it does, then you will of earned it.
Kind regards,
Nigel.

Today, we was let down by a couple of players, these players need to make contact with me before any match or training session, Beth B phone me this morning and explained her position and that was fine and no problem, If Beth B can do this why cant anybody else !?. Players will be fined if they don't inform the Manager that they can not attend any session.

Ladies, New players and existing, now known as the team. What a blend we now have, you have just taken on the top two teams from last season and played excellent football against them both, each one there was no back chat to each other, No back chat to the manager, No Criticisms of each other, just some very nice quick skilful football. You all have jobs to do and positions to play in, and I know some are still uncomfortable with these, and we are working on getting the set up fine tuned for future games.
Training is playing dividends in set pieces, and the fitness levels are increasing. Training sessions are very important and will increase your performance on the Saturdays so lets ensure we use the hour to its full potential. Talking on the pitch was heard this week, long may it continue and escalate further, a talking team is a good team. Ian's said his bit, and I will only re-iterate one item, Start playing when the first whistle is blown, not when we are 3 nil down please Looking good Ladies, come on lets get the win you deserve.
Ian will get the ice-creams in

Hi everyone, after sleeping on things last night and I have now cooled down, The referee is a young lad and needs time to improve. I may have been a bit hard on him in my match report but I have read the conduct statement on the 19th April and that says it all for me. I should have written a report last time than it may not have happened again yesterday.

Thank you Ladies, You did carry on from last weeks efforts.
The new girls again played a great part and are fitting in well, you have all made them welcome, as a team you supported each other so well, the talking and the help you gave each other was ace. As Denton's Manager points out , you really gave them a run for their victory, I bet none of you ever thought that would happen after last years results.
Be positive and confident for the future games, and you all get the victory we are all looking for. I don't normally name names but I must raise a few people, Gemma B and Beth for your work rate, Dionne for always seeming to be in the right place and Hannah for having super glue on them gloves, tremendous goal keeping, the one stopped under the bar 1st half was first class, and a lot more to come from all the team, you all played a huge part, and all watching on the sidelines where I'm sure as impressed as I.
Come on Am's, lets get the win, and you will all see what you can achieve.

Hi Am's Girls
I take my hat off to you, you were awesome today. No doubt in my mind, you will be challenging for silverware this season. Nice touch meeting in the middle before ko, just a pity the 'throwing soil' incident spoilt it somewhat. I didn't get to the bottom of it I'm afraid, but one things for sure, if me, Tim or Alan see anything like it in the future, the player will come off for the rest of the game. Dirty tactics is not what we're about. The league is going to be much tougher this season, and every game will be a battle. I can't wait until we lock horns again at your end. Wouldn't it be nice if we are battling it out that day for the title - who knows, footie is a funny old game
Enjoy the rest of the season.

Hillgate Blues v WAG-FC
Proud , Proud of all 9 Girls who took part today, The effort was tremendous, the work rate so high, and the team spirit fantastic.
I came today expecting you to get a good beating, but once again, you proved me , and many others so so wrong. With a full team , I'm sure you would have gained a great win, all played well, and looked for each other, and you all didn't pass on the responsibility to others to clear the ball, make the tackle, or hit the pass. With a little more luck in front of goal, the result would have been very very different. No names from me, you know who you are, several people playing in defence today don't normally do so, but no whinging great performance and both played great, Goalkeeping shared with a fantastic performance by both, great midfield and forwards all working so so hard, tracking back to assist defence with a massive amount of running put in by all, you can tell by the red faces.
Lets try and bottle this up enthusiasms, effort and determination and bring to every future game.
Well done all

Saturday & Sunday 21st / 22nd June 2008
Poynton Soccer Sixes Festival
Ian, Carol and all
A long two days in more ways than one, Carol you would have been proud of your teams this weekend, we all wish you a
speedy return, and as the girls on Saturday said to each other before kick off.
"Lets do it for Carol"
A couple of weeks ago a few of the parents said it would be nice to win as many games as we lost, well this weekend was
a point in case, both team gave it their all, and some who played both days where a credit.
Thanks Ian for the reports, you must have worked long into the night, when you where clearly in pain and tied after two
long days.
I wish to highlight a few more points, On several occasions of play, across the two days certain parts of play by the
Wythenshawe Amateurs where not only applauded by our supporters but also by the other teams watching and commented upon
to me and others.
Kat, what a goal, from 15 yards it bent into the top corner, fantastic. Gemma K, goal-keeping on Sunday in the 1st match well
done. Dionne for the tight ball control, passing and movement excellent. Gemma B for the all action performance, foot
in, passing and, well shooting (to be practiced), against Curzon as well my mates team, Ohhhh Beth the run you made to
defend against Curzon Ashton when otherwise the girl was one on one with Higgy, was roundly applauded by all on the
touchline, capping a fine two days for you, well done. And yes, you all stuck together on a couple of damp, wet and
windy days, laughed and giggled a lot also
Well Done
Neil

Well what a busy weekend I had Gemma play on Saturday and Sunday. The under 13's on Saturday did brilliant against some good teams ,they all put everything in and in bad weather ,cold wet and windy ,we saw plenty of tents blow away. It was hard at times against some big girls, the goalie ha ha . but we still played our game. well done to you all.
On Sunday I was back again to the under 14's once again it was a windy day not much rain , we where up against some good teams and we did our best . we all give it 100% it was along day playing 9 teams and long breaks in between but we all had a laugh I thought . well done to Kelly in net I could not believe another manager saying what a good goalie you where and it was your first time. Also well done to Ian for being there , with your bad hip and leg............... also hope Carol ok we thinking of you after what happened on Saturday .
Looking forward to next season..............................................

The 13's I did see you, and you were brilliant, I loved watching every game, both teams had a great achievement in both getting 8 points and just missing out on going through. Neil's u13's Reports
Match One Won 3-0 ( Beth x 3)
Well you come out onto the pitch wondering what to expect and a
few concerns between you, the
formation was set, Hannah (Back a bit) look very bright in the yellow top, Chloe dropped to defensive
alongside Kelly. Aimee, Beth and Kat set about a fluid middle field and attack formation, and
completely
blew the opposition away what a game. Beth got up and down for a great hat trick, super
finishing, and all
the team celebrated as one, including Hannah, who didn't even get a touch of the ball.
Match Two Drew 0-0
We knew this was going to get harder, and so it proved, we where
on the back foot for a time during this one,
but we kept our heads and our discipline, and with the HUGE throw their team had we defended
(Womanly),
everybody got involved, Hannah threw herself into feet twice to grab the ball, top bravely award from
me, the
post got involved also to our favour. We got a good draw against the
eventual finalist in our group
Match Three Drew 0-0
Again, a very tough game, we again as a team defended our
position magnificently, and produced several
chances of our own, Hannah tipped one onto the bar from a free kick given away some 20 meters from
goal, what
a shot that was, and then Kelly went on one of her jinking runs, we had no idea what was going to
happen
next and I'm not to sure she did either, and unfortunately struck the outside of the post with a
smashing
shot, and again the team work with Aimee covering Kelly's runs was excellent.
Again a draw against the eventual finalist in our group
Up to this point, the team hadn't let a goal in, and is worth noting, well done to you all
Match Four Lost 0-1
Once we got settled we produced some good stuff again, looking
for each other, talking and running off
the ball, the opposition where a good match for us, and both teams produced chances, the only goal
of the game came from an angled shot on the left side that just slipped under Hannah's legs, there
where all a few goal mouth scrabbles , but we got bodies in the way, unlucky this time girls
Match Five Won 3-0
We needed to win this one to have a chance of getting to the play
off final, Kat was pushed high up front to
try and stretch the game, and generate room in the mid-field, and proved to be so, Beth scored
1, and then
laid 1 on for Kat who at the second attempt rammed it in the net, Chloe nearly got in on the action
with a great
Effort from 20 meters with a curling right foot shot that clipped the outside of the upright, and
then a run
down the left wing from Kat, she slide the ball across the area to Aimee, who with a deft touch
passed the ball
over the line for a well deserved goal for her and a win for the team, and once again Hannah never
touched the ball.
Great work girls, you all stuck together out there, and proved
you can compete with other teams, it was a great
all round effect.
Played 5, Won 2, Drew 2, Lost 1, Goals for 6 , Goals against 1
Many Thanks

What a good tournament for both teams, well done to you all, it was such
a good positive set of results and atmosphere, for both teams to finish 3rd is a credit to you all.
And the way both teams supported each other from the side lines was excellent. Carol, you should be rightly pardon of
your teams, and all you have done to get them to this level, I'm sure that all the parents enjoyed it as much as I
did.

A short concise and accurate report from Ian, We need to sort the basic's out as a team, need to defend and attack as a team, I counted 27 attempts on our goal today, that's every 2.5 min's and no team can sustain that sort of pressure without conceding. Heads up please, need to get a settled formation now and work on it together, well done (back a bit) keep your head up.

Leah & Hannah (backabit) great performances by you two in goals, we can work on things from here, and a little
mention for the back 3, Yes the back 3 allowed Dionne to break forward and carry the ball out of defence is a huge bonus
for the team, Stockport didn't know what to do with you at times, and you 3 allowed this to happen and covered the gap,
fantastic team work.

Thank you for such a performance today, the first half just shows that as a TEAM you can match any team in this league.
Denton are quick, slick and organised, and with a little re-organisation YOU held your own.
I'm not going to talk about individuals (Ian Does that), as you where all given a job and instructions and you stuck to
it, and it worked for a long time.
Heads up, looking round, switched on at all times and keeping it simple.
I wish to also highlight that we where beaten by 3 outstanding goals today from Denton, top class finishing, which I'm
sure no keeper in this league would have saved, not even I could have stopped the one into the top corner.
Great even game 1st half, played in a great spirit.

Hi Carol, Ian and all the Girls at WAGS 14's.
Yesterday was a fabulous game of football, with DIONNE (there's only 1-soz had to put that in), making some world class saves, and yes, BETH, you did a brill job of marking YOYO - that's why your our Player of the Match, though DIONNE did run you a close 2nd
First half, and you gave us a real test, and just shows, you have ability throughout the team. We always approach our games with you with respect, because we know, you can play some really really good football.
The only problem I can see is once you go 2 or 3 goals down, you're heads drop a bit, and you lose your composure, which is a shame, because with the players you've got in the team, you can come back from a 2/3 goal deficit - just keep your chins up, dig deep, and go for it. You'll probably hammer us next time, in which case the Denton girls will kill me for writing this.
Ian- TOP GUY. I have total respect for what he's trying to do at WAGS and in the game generally. We talk often about the Charity Teams, and we are somewhat like pioneers trying to promote u8s football for girls - many girls at that age love playing football, but would run a mile if asked to play in a boys team, that's why Denton, WAGS, AFC Clayton, Oswald Rd., etc are starting to develop this age.
Ian, I take my hat of to you for your nice comments. WAGS, you're lucky to have him.

As you know I have my own 2 daughter's who play in this section of the club (Trisha & Kat) and because of them I do my best for the section, it may seem that there is nothing to running this section, but believe me when I say it is very time consuming. Here is an email I received from a team Manager who was at the game on Saturday 6th October against Urmston Meds.
Hi Carol / Ian,
Good luck vs. Stockport this weekend. Don't know why your team has lost its form so dramatically, you have some really decent players in the team and I told "Beth" she was a class act. Also your keeper, absolutely nothing to be ashamed about, she may have lost it in the last ten minutes vs. Urmston perhaps, Which is understandable, But overall, I think she played well Saturday, like she always does.
I am sure Carol, You and the Girls will turn it around and start winning again.
but hopefully not against us. LOL
Keep the chins up, See ya soon

Thank you to the person who donated £25.00 to the girls section of the club, you did request that I did not identify you, so you know who you are, I bet things were a bit different 30 years ago !
Thank You Very Much

Hi, Ok!......... I will see what we can do, is there any Parents / Children out there who will sponsor their-self's to complete a match.
Ask people to sponsor you to complete the Match. e.g.: 25 minutes each way, do not do it to win
I will print off some sheets to do the next charity match, please ask Carol or Ian for the sheets.

One of our Parents has a poorly child who suffers from "Charge Syndrome", forgive me if I have it wrong, there is a charity that deals with this condition, can we set up a Charity Match with the Charity Team to play, and all proceeds to go to the said Charity ?

Hi, Its ok, your not thick. everyone is welcome its the Irish Festival, when have you known any Irish person to have an excuse to party !?
There is face painting, car boot, stalls, bouncy castle, etc..........
Bedians Field is at the bottom of Parrswood Rd, if you went right up Barlow Moor Rd to Didsbury Village then turned right, go right through the village and when the road turns to the left on the right is "Millgate Lane" turn right here and go down to the bottom, turn right to the dead end, which changes to Millgate Lane again,
In the A-Z its page 137 / Ref: 3E
Bedians Field is right here !
If you get stuck, Ask at the shops on the right !

I agree Dave, but we have a little problem this year, we are moving up to 11 aside football, but this brings with it extra cost. Bigger pitch, bigger Ref fee's.
Everything is bigger, but has you know nothing better !

Hi Everyone
Carol and Myself would like to say a big "THANK YOU" to all the Parents and Girls who turned up on Saturday for the game, even the one Parent who could not stay but helped putting up the nets before going to other arrangements.
My wife, Michelle did a collection up to and including the Game and we will give in excess of £200.00 (True & Complete figure to be confirmed) to the Lancasterian SEN School Fund, which will come in very useful for their future plans.
Maybe we can do this as a yearly thing with different charities receiving from us ?
Thanks once again Carol & Ian

Hi Ian, seen the league tables we only needed to win a couple of the games that we lost and we would have came second place in the league ?

I would like to say that it was very nice to see that Beth won 2nd place for player of the season in the S.M.G.F.L and that Carol and Myself feel very proud to what WE as a team have done.
We have come from near bottom of the pile to near top of the pile and that in a season is more than very good, we have one if not the best Goalie in the league, one of the top Striker's in the league and in my view one of the best teams in the league.
Carol and Myself look forward to next season
